Shellie May in Cars Land

"This is...not the same as California."

"HEY! That license plate number is George Carlin's birthday!"

Shellie May Gets Educated

"'To create the East Australian Current for the turtle scenes, Pixar built an animated tube about 5 miles long. Then they filled it with nearly 300,000 bubbles and over a million tiny particles.' WOW!"

"Filmore's license plate, 51237, stands for May 12, 1937. George Carlin's birthday. Wow! I learned so much at Art of Animation!"

Looking back in time with Shellie May

"WOW! It's the past! I remember those giant yo-yos like it was only an hour ago..."

(Technically, it was probably more like 10-15 minutes ago. We had a limited amount of time before we had to hurry back and move our laundry over...)

Art of Animation is Pretty as a Picture

"WOW! Look at the smudged reflections and the trees blending into the buildings kind of. SO PRETTY!"

Shellie May on Hourglass Lake

"Do they call this Hourglass Lake because you are taking an hour to walk across this bridge?" asked Shellie May.

Hey! I am not!

"Tee hee."

Walking through History

"In 1966, the Clean Water Restoration Act was passed to combat pollution. Sci-fi series 'Star Trek' made its debut."

"Um...is it just me, but is history a tiny bit...well..."

"Boring?"

"YES!"

"History is not boring, but that sign was not very exciting, no."

Shellie May going for a walk

It is so rainy but wow the blue on Shellie May's outfit sure pops in this light.

You can see one of POP Century's giant yo-yos in the background.

Shellie May around POP Century

"WOW! It is garish!"

My BFF was feeling very under the weather, so Shellie May and I let her sleep and did our laundry and walked around the resort a bit.

POP Century is where we stayed! It is garish and themed to the 1950s through the 1990s. The DISboards had said it was the best "value" resort (if Art of Animation is too expensive for you, anyway). Some people there posted that it just felt like "home."

I LOVED IT!

Even if we were in the 1950s and didn't get a single one of our room requests. :)

Oh, our maid

Our maid at POP Century really outdid herself. She wrote a nice note to our family. Family of plushies, I hope she thought....

I was careful to tip her each time, so I don't feel TOO bad that she spent so much time entertaining us.

Cars at Disney Hollywood Studios

"CAR!"

"My human says she cannot decide if this is ridiculous or amazing."

"Sally as Princess Leia....I can't decide either. Oh hey. It is cold and rainy and my human's BFF is so tired she doesn't even want to see the LITTLE MERMAID SHOW..."

"So...good night, Hollywood Studios! Or maybe good afternoon..."

(I have yet to spend a full day in Hollywood Studios, poor park. Maybe next time!)

Shellie May is ready to rock

"YAY! We are going to ride an indoor roller coaster!"

"Hey, wait. Does this go upside-down?"

It does, but Shellie May had fun anyway!

Tour group backpacks...common sigh in late January 2014.

Shellie May is unkempt

Technically, her ribbon just fell into her eyes, but I like to think she was trying to rock out.

Don't stop dreaming, human. Don't stop dreaming.

Shellie May at Tower of Terror

"This ride is a little bit spooky but mostly fun. My human likes the Twilight Zone though."

"Um...I do not think you can see me."

Spooky Shellie May

"OooooooooooOoooooOoooh"

"That was my spooky ghost noise. Did I scare you? I am sorry!"

"But this place is very spooky."

"OooooooOoooooOoooooh--oh, sorry. I forgot that I might scare you. <3"
