Can we meet princesses?

Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May both like princesses, so we saw a little show with three of them!

It probably was not a good idea...my mom doesn't have much tolerance for poorly-behaved children. Ah well.

Can we ride Roger Rabbit's CarToon Spin?

"Another picture?!" Tiny Duffy asked. "Do we really need to get ANOTHER picture in front of the building?"

"I would like to ride now, please," said Tiny Shellie May.

And...Fastpass is valid! WE CAN!

He's got water coming out of his ears!

"I think the water coming out of Roger Rabbit's ears is strangely pretty," I said.

"I think you're weird," said Tiny Duffy.

"That's not very nice, Tiny Duffy," said Tiny Shellie May. More quietly, she whispered, "Even if it's true."

Visiting Mickey's Mailbox

"I want to see Mickey!" said Tiny Duffy.

"Sorry," I said. "The line is too long."

"Maybe we can leave him a voice message at the Post Office," said Tiny Shellie May.

Destination: Toontown!

"This trolley is very slow," said Tiny Shellie May.

"I think that's because it's bolted to the ground," I said.

"Nah," said Tiny Duffy. "I think it's because we're not steering it right."

Okay, Tiny Duffy.

Goofy's Non-Bouncy House

Goofy's House! It used to be fun to bounce in. Now it's just something to look at. :/

Of course, tiny bears are too small to bounce anyway, and large human is too big. So it doesn't really bother us.

"Do you think this looks a little like a loony bin?" Tiny Duffy asked.

"I don't know what that is," said Tiny Shellie May.

Tiny Bears are Feeling Nautical

Donald's House is a boat.

"Can we nap in here?" Tiny Duffy asked.

"Sorry...we're going to ride Roger Rabbit's CarToon Spin soon."

 "Awww...wait. Yay!"

 My tiny bears love rides.

Chip 'n Dale Treehouse

"Can we see Chip and Dale's Treehouse?"

It used to be really cool with a ball pit and stuff. That was years ago. :(

"Let's just look at the outside," I said. "Isn't it neat how everyone in Toontown has a mailbox?"

"Hey, yeah!" Tiny Duffy said.

"I like the acorns," said Tiny Shellie May.

Exit of Gadget's Go-Coaster

"Can we ride Gadget's Go-Coaster?"

"Sorry," I said, "but the line's too long."

"It doesn't look so bad to me," said Tiny Duffy.

"That's because you're standing by the exit," I said.

"Oh."

"Also, I'm not sure you are tall enough."

"Aw."

Mysterious Box

"What is in this box?" asked Tiny Duffy.

Even when I tried to open it, the lid wouldn't come off. Hmmm...if I recall correctly, it was full of sound effects, though.

Deranged Cab at Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin!

Oh no! Be careful, Tiny Duffy!

"He's not bad," Tiny Duffy said. "He's just drawn that way."

Touché, Tiny Duffy.

Behind the Scenes at Toontown

OK, really just behind a fence. But tiny bears are totally not supposed to be back there. Tiny Duffy! Tiny Shellie May! Get back here!
"Sorry," said Tiny Duffy.

Daisy's Diner

Daisy's Diner sells small/personal pizzas. "Can we have a tiny pizza please?" asked Tiny Shellie May. "We would share it and it would be very economical."

"You just ate a giant buffet meal a few hours ago," I said. "And besides, Tiny Duffy is wearing white.  He can't have anything with tomato sauce in it."

"Aw."

Look at the daisies in Daisy's wreath!  Too cute!

Duffy at Department of Ink & Paint

Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May look a little lost at the Department of Ink & Paint. Maybe because they aren't toons.

Toontown Christmas Tree

The old one (pre-2011) was nicer.

I guess this one photographs OK, though. At least, when you have darling subjects hiding in the foreground!

Bears in Toontown

"What should we do now?" Tiny Duffy asked. They weren't sure. I love how this shot brings out the brown in Tiny Duffy's eyes.

Which is impressive because I always thought his eyes were black!

Garland on a hot dog?

Then we made our way over to Toontown!
"I would like one hot dog with extra tinsel, please," Tiny Duffy said.

"I don't think they sell those," said Tiny Shellie May.

"Well, there is one on the roof," Tiny Duffy said.

"I also don't think tinsel is edible," said Tiny Shellie May.

 "Hmph. That's false advertising!"

Tiny Bears Chillin' on Main Street

Nothing exciting. Just waiting peacefully.

Actually, while they waited, there was a couple trying to get a good picture of their (?) adorable baby in a stroller with a sunshade. Whenever the camera came out, the baby pulled the canopy down to hide her face. Funny! Fortunately, tiny bears do not mind getting their pictures taken.

Tiny Duffy on the phone

Aside from Star Tours, waits on the Sunday after Thanksgiving 2011 were not bad at all!

We then stopped off at the First Aid center (nothing serious). There is a pay phone outside. Very ancient, but you can still find them in Main Street, USA.

"Hello?" Tiny Shellie May asked.

"I don't hear anyone," Tiny Duffy said.

"You have to put a coin in to make a call," I said.

"Can I have a coin?" Tiny Duffy asked.

"No."

"Aw."

I always checked pay phones for coins when I was a kid. Did you?

Sadly, Tiny Duffy didn't find any coins. "I guess it's OK," Tiny Duffy said. "My best friends are right here!"

Walt and Mickey and Duffy and Shellie May

They were trying to replicate the pose, but it just didn't work.

The netting on the trees is for the Christmas lights that are so beautiful at night. Somewhat less beautiful during the day, though.

Tiny Bears on Dumbo

"Can we go on Dumbo?" Tiny Duffy asked.

"It's almost 2 o'clock," I said. "I think the line is too long."

"No it's not," Tiny Duffy said.

I stand corrected.

Tiny bears on Christmas presents

Then we went to check in somewhere...the Paradise Pier Hotel! They had a large Christmas tree up, but the photo I have right now is Notably Bad.

"Tiny Duffy, you are heavy," said Tiny Shellie May as she helped him up onto the present.

"Sorry," Tiny Duffy said. "I ate too much prime rib at the House of Blues Gospel Brunch."

"Maybe I shouldn't call you Tiny Duffy," I said. "Maybe I should call you Surprisingly Heavy Duffy."

The bears just stared at me.

Tiny Bears with Minnie Mouse

Our room at the (way too expensive) Paradise Pier was not ready yet, so we went to the parks.

Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May are very fond of Minnie. After all, she sewed them!

Duffy at Gospel Brunch

So where did we end up?

Gospel Brunch at House of Blues! The food was good, the gospel music was nice. The service was VERY GOOD! They didn't even charge extra for my tiny bears with big appetites.

I doubt all tiny bears like church music, but mine do.

Nearsighted bears

"Do you think these glasses would fit me?" asked Tiny Shellie May.

 "I think so," I said.

"Then may I please have them?" asked Tiny Shellie May. "I think I am a little nearsighted."

"Tiny Shellie May, I don't think those glasses have any lenses," I said.

"Well," said Tiny Shellie May, "I told you I think I am a little nearsighted. The frames would probably correct it. Though I think I'm only a little nearsighted when orange glasses match my outfit."

SIGH.

Tiny Bears cool off

Tiny Duffy heard that fire hydrants are good for cooling people off when it's warm.

"It's a little cool, I guess," Tiny Shellie May said.

Monday, May 7, 2012

Two more things tiny bears like

Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May like metal chairs!

Tiny Duffy likes blue hair. Tiny Shellie May is not so sure.

I guess she wouldn't mind blue hair if it weren't attached to such a scary grin.

Downtown Disney Scenery

Downtown Disney is a pretty place.

It's no Disneyland...but hey, it's free admission.

Tiny Bears Like Clothes

"Can we please go to Build a Bear?" Tiny Shellie May asked.

"I don't think they have anything that will fit you," I said.

"And I prefer handmade clothes," added Tiny Duffy.

"Aw."

"Heeeey," Tiny Duffy said. "That sounds familiar."
