Space Mountain with an ECV (and Duffy)

So if you need an ECV to get around and can't walk up the ramp, you can wait for Space Mountain by the exit (which is certainly noisy and on the warm side, if I recall correctly). Then you get to load onto a car outside the main loading area and then when everyone's secure, they swing your car onto the track and let you ride! Pretty cool.

Duffy's Spring-ish Voyage - Part 24

Tiny Duffy and I are still on the 101-year-old Great Lakes Freighter the James M. Schoonmaker!  This was a biggish area downstairs, like a drawing room or something.

"This chair is too small for me," said Tiny Duffy.

Tiny Duffy actually makes this fireplace look smaller, I think.

Skylights!

Old phone directory!

Yes, one more bathroom!

Up a flight of stairs is the Captain/Owner's Lounge.

You are now in the Captain/Owner's Lounge. This room was used by the Captain and Owner for relaxation and entertaining invited guests.

"I am enjoying lounging!" said Tiny Duffy.

Duffy at the Plaza Inn at Disneyland

You know, I'm not sure when the last time I ate at the Plaza Inn was. I remember going when my DAD went (he hates Disneyland but humored us one trip). That was one day in 1990 or 1991, I believe!

We went here because my BFF listed food she liked as fried chicken, pasta (I think) and not-fancy salads. This is the place for all of those!

Is this not the most amazing soda machine ever??? Almost made me want to get some.

My pasta with "chicken pesto alfredo sauce" was so rich and so, so good! Not sure why the breadstick is served cold but the rest was amazing. I am gaining weight just looking at it.

My BFF is wearing a spare sweatshirt of mine across the table!

Duffy on Star Tours

Poor Duffy never rode the old Star Tours! But he likes the new one...this is his second ride!

Duffy takes a rest

Then we took the train from Toontown to Tomorrowland.

Duffy found the train very relaxing.

Kind of sort of a parade with Duffy

We got off at Mickey's Toontown Station to use our Roger Rabbit Car Toon Spin Fastpasses. But what should we stumble across? Yes, a parade to watch at a distance! Let's!

If you squint I think you can see Rapunzel!

Ditto Tiana!

And Louis!

Did you like the parade, Duffy?

Duffy is very short so it took him a little while to answer. "I like being in Disneyland with you."

Aw, melt my heart, why don't you.

Duffy's Spring-ish Voyage - Part 23

So what's the next destination on Duffy's Spring-ish Voyage?

Yes, a giant old cargo ship! The James M. Schoonmaker, which is a lake freighter, circa Titanic-era (in fact, it was celebrating 100 years in 2012). I wrote a lot more (and put up several bear-less pics) at another blog of mine but Tiny Duffy and I will also be going through the rooms in detail together!

That is one steep gangplank, by the way!  (Yes, I am scared of heights.)

The ship was still in the process of being restored and frankly kind of creepy, which made it kind of awesome.

Little exhibits.

Most museums have ropes and stuff to keep you off of or out of certain spaces. Not so much this one (at least not in 2012).

"I do not think this bed is the right size for me," said Tiny Duffy.

The view was...interesting.

Well, at one point this was a bathroom...

The old signage was really neat.

"Hello?"

If I recall correctly, this bathroom was functional. Or at least they said it was, and the toilet paper would attest to that. I was not feeling gutsy, so I can't tell you for sure...

Disneyland Railroad at New Orleans Square

Quick stop at New Orleans Square.

Where do you think we are headed?
