Giant Christmas tree

That's right! Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May love the giant Christmas tree!

We found this vantage point of Santa rather disturbing. Though at least he has a bear.

Wait Board and Hello, Main Street!

I like wait boards. Do you? This is around 1 PM I think, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, 2011.

Usually when people are on Main Street, they are on their way to something.

So where are Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May headed?

Duffy at Club 33

"Can we go in here?"

I had to explain to the tiny bears that no, Club 33 is a special exclusive restaurant. And for one thing, I am not special or exclusive. For another thing, we totally just ate a steak.

Full Bears

Tiny bears, would you like some steak?

30 seconds later:

"Oh, I'm so full!" said Tiny Duffy.

Apparently he got so full he had to take off that stifling Santa costume.

(I THINK this is looking across at Pirates of the Caribbean but I'm not sure. Did I mention it is dark in the Blue Bayou?)

No salad

Would you like a mixed greens salad, tiny bears?

"That's rabbit food," said Tiny Duffy.

"No thank you," said Tiny Shellie May.

I tried.

1980s Darkroom in the Blue Bayou

It totally looks like a 1980s darkroom on TV.

Or...I don't even know what. Interesting.

Mint julep at the Blue Bayou

Mint julep with free refills!

I only let the tiny bears have a tiny taste, though. I didn't think it was good for them to have all that sugar. And I didn't want them to get a tummy ache!

They made up for it in bread, though.

Tiny bears in candlelight

It is DARK inside the Blue Bayou!

Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May had to hold paws just to make sure they didn't lose each other.

(It was also fun to try to figure out how to work my camera to get a picture of them while we waited.)

The Blue Bayou!

Did you guess that they'll be eating at the Blue Bayou?

If not, I don't blame you. It is the fanciest restaurant inside Disneyland Park, and...well...Tiny Duffy is so adverse to wearing pants, I anticipated it might be a problem.

No one seemed to mind, though.

One more shot outside; we'll go in tomorrow!

New Orleans Square at Christmastime

Yes, we hopped right on back to Disneyland! Where do you think we are going to eat?

Can we meet Duffy?

Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May were all ready to meet person-sized Duffy!

...but...he didn't show up. :( I'm sure he came later, but we had to go.

Where will we take him? Out to a fancy lunch, of course!

Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May were again disappointed, but they perked up at the prospect of food.

1 MPH

The line for Toy Story Midway Mania was very long, and we wanted to get over to Duffy's Meet and Greet! (the long way)

Maybe another time, Mr. Potato Head!

Kicked off the Golden Zephyr???

Were those tiny bears misbehaving???

We looped around a little more...

Can you imagine a prettier view?

The ride felt a little wilder than I'd remembered, too. Then suddenly an alarm (more obnoxious than scary) started up and the rockets slowed and came to a stop. The wind was too high for the ride to operate safely!

Tiny bears are disappointed, but understand safety comes first.

Riding the Golden Zephyr!

So Tiny Duffy, Tiny Shellie May, Mom and I all got situated on the Golden Zephyr. There was a stiff breeze, and they warned us that they might have to stop the ride due to wind.

Tiny Duffy and Shellie May were ready for adventure!

And we were off!

"Hello, Grand Californian!" Tiny Duffy said.

"I wish we could stay in you," Tiny Shellie May said.

Come back tomorrow for the thrilling conclusion!

To the Golden Zephyr!

Here is another ride that is exciting for tiny bears who are not very heavy and cannot be seat-belted in.

The Golden Zephyr!

More about our ride tomorrow!

Better pictures inside the Little Mermaid building

Tiny Shellie May LOVES this tile!

I think this may be Tiny Shellie May's favorite ride!

"We'll be back, Ariel!"

Inside the Little Mermaid Building

Tiny Bears don't like flashes.

More pictures coming up presently. :)

Little Mermaid Building (again)

This arch is kind of weird and kind of neat. The shade is very practical for Southern California. (Would have been nice if they'd hidden the speaker.)

The glass is SO COOL!

Under the Sea

Or at least close to being under the sea.

The Little Mermaid isn't really my favorite Disney film but I really like the ride (when the park isn't too busy it's kind of like the old Peoplemover!) and I LOVE/ADORE/WANT TO LIVE IN the building! It looks like old Coney Island!

I think Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May will like the ride. (Especially since the cars are shells!)

The drama!

Tiny Shellie May clings precariously to the metal beam with one paw. WILL TINY DUFFY CATCH HER?

OK, tiny bears; time to be moving on.

"Aw, now we'll never know how it ends," whined Tiny Duffy.

Of course, Tiny Shellie May is quite sturdy and has survived some falls before. I bet she would have been fine. :)

Surveying our haul

Not too bad a Fastpass haul for 10:30 AM, eh?

This was back in the halcyon days when Big Thunder Mountain Railroad's Fastpasses were disconnected, so you could get one without waiting for your window to open. Good times. Last I heard, it's connected again.

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

That is seriously unsanitary!

We stopped for a little rest and some water.

Thank goodness I kept them away from the condiment bar. Also thank goodness the restaurant was deserted around 10:30 AM.

Strange Things are Happening

Actually, Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May stopped to see this rather surreal scene...

...before making their way to...

That's right! Another notably bad picture!

And then obtained some Soarin' Fastpasses in an act of not-so-good photography.
