Hungry Bears at a Restaurant

Then we went back to Disneyland! Here is the wait board about noon! (Monday after Thanksgiving, 2011.)

We were all hungry, so we appropriately went to the Hungry Bear Restaurant.

"NOM NOM NOM" said Tiny Duffy. And Tiny Shellie May. And me.

TINY BEAR-SIZED PIE! Long story...Mom bought a cupcake and another pie...after my sandwich and sweet potato fries (and Mom's salad), we were all too full to eat all the desserts! So we ate the cupcake, since it was the most perishable. The pies eventually went home with my mom...I never tasted it!!!

Oh well. At least it was a cute picture.

Duffy at Downtown Disney

This is about 90 minutes after the park opened! (Monday after Thanksgiving 2011)

Then I made my way to Downtown Disney. Mom and I had a coupon to use.

Obviously the display was not as nice as the ones in  Tokyo Disney Sea, but I have no idea if I'll EVER get to visit there...

I guess the pirate outfit is one piece and closes in the back. Interesting.

The sailor outfit's closure is really interesting! My Duffy's just slips over his head.

Jack and Sally

I am so glad Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May let me meet Jack Skellington and Sally! They only come out for the Halloween and Christmas seasons.

Sally called me a tinkerbug, if I recall correctly, and told me to be careful not to get squished. Jack was fixated on the fact that the bears were very dead. I'm not quite sure what he meant by that, but I said I loved them anyway.

They made me laugh a lot; they were very funny. And the cast member with them was very nice (her job was very hard, as she had to keep telling people the line was closed) and took several pictures!

Another line?

"Wow," said Tiny Duffy. "What's that line for? It must be a fun ride."

"Actually," I said, "it's a meet-and-greet."

"Aw," said Tiny Duffy. "Wait. Is this a SPOOKY meet-and-greet?"

I squinted. "I do believe it is. Can we meet them?"

Tiny Duffy hesitated, then nodded. "Yes!"

Picture Spot

I am not sure you are supposed to take a picture of the Picture Spot SIGN.

Fear of Water

"Wow," said Tiny Shellie May. "That island is SO far away and there's SO much water."

"Don't be scared," said Tiny Duffy.

"Wait," I said. "Tiny Shellie May, you came from Tokyo Disney SEA. Why are you afraid of the Rivers of America?"

"I'm only scared of American water," she sniffed.

"Isn't Cape Cod in America?" I asked.

Tiny Shellie May just sniffed again.

Popcorn

"There are more interesting flavors of popcorn in Tokyo Disney Sea," said Tiny Shellie May.

"I'd like to try them someday," I said.

"I like plain, though," said Tiny Duffy.

Duffy's Spring-ish Voyage part 4

We are still in the Sauder Heritage Inn. They have a beautiful indoor pool and almost no one was at it!

"This is comfortable," said Tiny Duffy, "but it is hard to sunbathe when there is no sun."

"May we please go swimming now?" asked Tiny Shellie May.

Poor Tiny Duffy was just too small to cover the Sign of Doom.

They even had a lift to allow people with mobility problems to easily get into the pool.

"Whee!" said Tiny Duffy.

"You need the key to move it," said Tiny Shellie May.

"I can still say 'whee' if I want to."

"Now may we PLEASE go swimming?" asked Tiny Shellie May.

Well, I DID make them those tiny swimsuits...

The bears had a GREAT time at the pool...

"That was SO MUCH FUN!" said Tiny Shellie May.  She blushed under her fur. "Sorry. I did not mean to shout."

There was no one around to mind, so it was okay.

Frontierland Transformation

Frontierland is very interesting. From here, it looks like a desert. (Just like where I come from.)

But from just a little different angle, you can see the river!

Viva Mexico!

We cut through the Carnation Plaza Gardens (RIP) and toward Rancho del Zocalo!

"It sure is dark here," said Tiny Shellie May.

"Yes," I said. "It has nothing to do with my camera, or my photography skills. No. No."

Magnet Power

We had hoped to see Princess Aurora at Princess Fantasy Faire, but this is the closest we got.

"At least there's a manly, dragon-slaying prince here," said Tiny Duffy.

"And there is no line!" added Tiny Shellie May.

I just liked this window.

Sword in the Stone (with Duffy)

"Goodbye, carrousel," said Tiny Shellie May.

"And hello shiny!" said Tiny Duffy.

Try as they might, Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May couldn't pull the sword out of the stone.

"Aw."

Bear Handles

King Arthur Carrousel even has convenient handles for tiny bears to hold on to.

Round and round...and round...

Look in the mirror! It's Tiny Duffy! And my forehead!

And our horse's nostrils!

Do you think he looks like a Brooklyn horse? I do.

Carrousel just sounds classy

Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May LOVE carousels! I don't know why. Maybe it's the fresh air, or the old-timeyness.

Or possibly it is the fact that they can stick to the brass poles. I guess we'll never know.

Fortunately, I like carousels too. I really like Disneyland's because supposedly some of the horses came from Coney Island!

Looking up at the Castle

OK, it's a little crooked, but kind of neat.

Finally leaving It's a Small World

"Hmph," said Tiny Duffy.

"DAYLIGHT!" Tiny Duffy sighed in relief. "We're FREEEEE!"

I had to restrain Tiny Duffy from exiting the boat. Fortunately, that was very easy, as he is tiny.

Duffy's Spring-ish Voyage part 3

We are still in the Sauder Heritage Inn.

"What a beautiful fountain!" said Tiny Shellie May. "May we go swimming, please?"

"Maybe later," I said.

Tiny Shellie May liked to blend in with the courtyard.

Who knew that swim cap could double as camouflage?

Trying to Leave It's a Small World

"Ah," said Tiny Duffy. "At least the seat is comfortable."

See? Tiny Duffy is cheering up already. I think.

"It's a small world after all," sang Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May.

"Darn it," muttered Tiny Duffy. "That song is catchy."

It's a Small World Continued

"I didn't know this ride was so spooky," said Tiny Shellie May.

"Hmph," said Tiny Duffy.

"Look!" said Tiny Shellie May. "It's Ariel."

"It's a doll," said Tiny Duffy.

Please forgive Tiny Duffy. He was just in a bad mood for being forced to do girly things. He is really a very good bear.

It's a Small World with Small Bears

In the real world, it is Disneyland's birthday. Happy birthday, Disneyland!

Back at the park...

"Here we go!" said Tiny Shellie May.

"And look, Tiny Duffy," I added. "You're not the only bear!"

"Hm. Okay."
