Duffy tucked away

So Duffy wouldn't be a loose article, I put him in my purse for the second go around.

Duffy wants to go again

"Can we ride again?" asked Duffy.

My friend also wanted to ride again. So, sure!

Duffy about to board Expedition Everest

We rushed through the queue so quickly we could hardly see the detail of the queue. Before we knew it...

...here we are!

I was nervous; it was the only Disney coaster I've never been on, and I don't like drops. I still didn't love the drop, but it was OK. Duffy had fun!

Duffy waiting for Expedition Everest

So we RUSHED to Expedition Everest and the line was outside of the queue! Of course, they hadn't opened up the queue yet.

So we waited for a while. Fortunately...

...an adorable duck couple came by to entertain us!

Duffy with a Spoonbill (maybe)

So when we finally got in we planned to RUSH to Expedition Everest, but my friend saw a spoonbill and had to get a picture!

I THINK Duffy got a picture with it too, but I am not a bird expert, so maybe this was something else!

Duffy and a squirrel

A squirrel was kind enough to entertain us for a while while we waited!

Hey, Duffy, let's get a photo of you with the squirr--aw.

Well, we tried!

Duffy on a bus

The next morning, we went to Animal Kingdom. Look at all the room on the bus!

Shellie May and Duffy go back to the room

Low crowds leaving Epcot.

Am I the only person who thinks this looks like a futuristic graveyard?

The bus ride was kind of funny. There was a guy holding a little kid, probably my nephew's age, with one of those light up spinner toys. He dropped it on the bus floor, more than once, I think, and eventually it broke. So he still held it, even though it wouldn't light up or spin anymore. He dropped it again and I couldn't reach it since I was standing on a moving bus and didn't want to die, but I put my foot on it to keep it from rolling away. Eventually the dad picked it up and gave it to the kid.

And it worked again! Magic foot!

When we got home, Shellie May spent some time with Mintsy.

Our "towel animal."

We decorated our window with our memories of the day. I was very proud of my Magic Foot.

Duffy and Shellie May after Illuminations

After Illuminations, we waited for a while for the crowds to disperse.

Oh. I think they are gone!

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Duffy and Shellie May with a terrible view of Illuminations

We made it in time to see Illuminations! We had a TERRIBLE view but I don't think I would've loved the show anyway...I'm used to World of Color with its, you know, colors.

But...but...the Internet said it was amazing!

Duffy and Shellie May in Norway

After Test Track, we rushed over to Norway becaue I wanted to try some School Bread from Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. Would we make it before 9 PM?!

YES!

Sunday, March 16, 2014

Shellie May with School Bread

We got our school bread in time for Illuminations!

"It looks great if you like pastries and custard and toasted coconut!" said Shellie May. "And I do!"

Duffy building a car

So we went to Test Track and got to build our very own car!

This was a wall I found interesting. LOL.

Yes, our car was a monstrosity.

"I like monstrosities!" said Duffy.

Fair enough.

Duffy at Test Track

After a slightly-interesting trip through space, we went on to...

Test Track!

"I totally have a MagicBand!" says Duffy. "It is just...hidden by my fur. Yes. Yes."

They let him through anyway.

Duffy is ready to fly

"Wait," Duffy says. "Where are the bear-sized spacesuits?"

"I am starting to get a little worried."

Duffy and Shellie May in line for Mission: Space

So the last time I went to WDW--

"You went to Disney World without me?!" asked Shellie May.

Well, it was in 2009. You had not been sewn yet.

"Oh."

Anyway, back the last time I went to WDW, I was scared to go on the "orange" side of Mission: SPACE. So we went on the green side and it was BO-RING.

So this time...

"It matches my hat," said Duffy.

We also got a little card that the Cast Members use, which is neat.

"The card has a lot of different languages on it!" said Shellie May.

Duffy in Space

We had a Fastpass+ for Mission: SPACE valid from 7 - 8 PM. It wasn't QUITE 8 PM, so we hurried over!

We did not actually need the FP+ at all, but it's not like you can get two FP+s for Test Track, so...

I thought Duffy's cunning hat was very appropriate for a space-travel-themed ride.

Welcome to Epcot

"WOW!" said Shellie May.

"That golf ball is SO BIG!!!!"

"It's called Spaceship Earth," I said.

"Oh. Spaceship Earth is SO BIG!!!!"

Shellie May and Duffy on a bus

FINALLY we managed to get on the bus to EPCOT!

Yes, my bears ARE very excited to be on a bus. Why do you ask?

(We thought it would be cold so they dressed with extra warm clothes, even over their fur.  It did get kind of chilly--this was January!--but I don't think the warm clothes were strictly necessary. At least, not for bears. Good for me, though.)

Waiting for the EPCOT bus

It felt like FOR-E-VER before the bus came to take us to EPCOT!

Bus after bus came for like EVERY OTHER DESTINATION, but where is the bus to EPCOT?

Does that say Hollywood Studios? ARGH!

I guess if you go to Walt Disney World you must have patience, or else learn it!

Salad at POP Century

Oh hey! Duffy came with us too. YAY!

Our plan was to go to EPCOT that day if we could make it. So we went to the food court and got create-your-own salads. Mine was very good. I got the shrimp. Duffy (and my friend) both thought it looked a little fishy. Ha ha. It was actually good and didn't kill me or anything.

I also decided to get pineapple (even though I really wanted a cupcake or brownie or something). I'm not sure how healthy chocolate milk is but it looked really good.

We were on the Disney Dining Plan (at an extreme discount) which was a good deal for us.  If we hadn't had the dining plan, I would've exclusively drank water and wouldn't have gotten desserts. I carefully calculated when we could eat meals and such so we wouldn't waste a single credit, too! I love planning!
