Shellie May and Me at roloC fo dlroW

So here is my favorite place to watch World of Color--or, as someone else dubbed it, roloC fo dlroW.

There are some benches set up behind Mickey's Fun Wheel. No waiting, and the view is not perfect, but it's SO quiet and peaceful. I don't like crowds so this is so perfect for me!

The projections don't look great, but they're OK.

"Hi!" said Shellie May. "It is very dark back here."

"Wow!" said Shellie May. "I like roloC fo dlroW! Especially since I get to watch it with YOU!"

Duffy wondered if maybe we should go back, but I was so enchanted to see DCA at night, I couldn't leave!

Pretty sure a string of lights was out.

You can see how close Cars Land is to Paradise Pier...that's the Cadillac Range back there in orange.

So pretty, and then...

...the lights went off! Oh my goodness; World of Color!

The music wasn't on but I could hear a bit of it from the park itself. I'm pretty sure they were actually just testing the Christmas intro, because they didn't run the whole show, and the start looked a lot like the Prep and Landing introduction I'd seen...just under a year prior!

You can see the Golden Zephyr gets in the way of the view from the Paradise View Terrace. Not the best spot to watch the show, but an interesting one!

Long story short, we did not get the very best view, but that's OK. Or at least it was OK for me!

Then things got really weird at RoloC fo dlroW, or if you prefer, World of Color. (By the way, Jeff is the one who came up with that phrase. Isn't he witty?)

OK, the fire is normal.

This? Not so much.

The show just STOPPED at probably the very worst spot possible (the Lion King if I recall correctly!). It did not restart. I understand this is a one-time only problem that will never happen again.

Tiny Duffy, Tiny Shellie May and I stayed away from the viewing area for a while, in case people were upset.

Weird way to end our last night at the parks!

Then things got weird at Roloc fo dlroW

"What is going on?" asked Tiny Shellie May.

For some reason, the lights came on around the back of Paradise Pier. The World of Color music switched to the Paradise Pier music. WEIRD!!!

It was really weird.

Belatedly, we decided to take advantage of the scenery of the back side of Paradise Pier.

My favorite part of World of Color is the music and the colored fountains, both of which you can see fine from the other side of Paradise Bay. My least favorite part is the crowds...and there are no crowds on the wrong side!

You can kind of see the projections from certain angles.

 

This is not a great view, but looks very comfortable.

Paradise Pier is crazy-beautiful at night. I can see why Duffy lives at Paradise Pier.* I wish I could, too!

Tiny Duffy, Tiny Shellie May, and I decided to watch World of Color from the wrong side of Paradise Pier.

You can't really see projections but besides that, there are some good viewing areas.

*Even Disney admits Duffy hails from Tokyo Disney Sea, one of the most beautiful theme parks in the WORLD. But Disney California Adventure is his summer home. :)
