STILL on board the then-101-year-old Great Lakes Freighter the James M. Schoonmaker! Actually, by this point Duffy and I were ready to go, but my mom had dropped us off. So...more photos!

Duffy's Spring-ish Voyage - Part 27
Tiny Duffy and I are still on the then-101-year-old Great Lakes Freighter the James M. Schoonmaker!
From the guide: "You are now viewing the ship's navigational space known as the Pilothouse. This space was manned by a navigational officer and wheelsman, as well as the Captain at any given time. Upon her launching this vessel was the platform for many industry "firsts" which included her being the first Great Lakes vessel to have: wireless telegraph, dual steering gear systems, a general alarm system, and an engine direction indicator.
"Whee, I'm a captain!" said Tiny Duffy.
Outside, Tiny Duffy's magnets again came in very handy in the wind.
So Titanic-y.
The scenery was pretty, too.
"SAVE ME!"
"See you next time!"

Duffy's Spring-ish Voyage - Part 25
Tiny Duffy and I are still on the 101-year-old Great Lakes Freighter the James M. Schoonmaker!
Sometimes it is very handy to have magnets in your paws.
This looks like some kind of clock and/or radio...
It was a fairly small space, so basically you'd explore a few rooms, then go up a steep flight of stairs!
"Wow!" said Tiny Duffy.
One of the neatest things was that since it was a work-in-progress, the drawers tended to open. And tended to be stocked with necessary supplies for restoration, like light bulbs (if I recall correctly). I assume when it opens with the maritime museum in the area, it will be a bit more secured.

The Captain's Cabin was one of the finest spaces aboard the ship as it offered an exceptional deck view in addition to its luxury. Also, note the (illegible) unique dresser. If you were to (illegible) on your floor at home it would lean to one side. Each piece of furniture woodwork aboard the vessel was custom crafted to the exact curvature of the ship.

Tiny Duffy and Tiny Shellie May at California Screamin'
This is about as close as I like to get to California Screamin', at least in the daytime.
3, 2, 1...
"Aren't you glad I didn't make you ride?" I asked.
"Well, the thing is, your BFF promised to take us," said Tiny Duffy.
"But I did not realize it launched over the water," said Tiny Shellie May.
"And I'm not afraid at all!" said Tiny Duffy. "But this seat is very comfortable, so it is all right."
Okay then.
3, 2, 1...
