If I had to guess, I'd think that the characters are told that they are not allowed to pose for a picture holding anything. Some of the characters were happy to hold them anyway. Some others...not so much.

"The Cast Member guarding the entrance at rope drop was a lot of fun!" said Shellie May.

"Our human's friend was excited to meet characters, so we are actually waiting for....Princess Fantasy Faire!"

We made it to Disneyland for rope drop!

"I--am--so--excited! Like a Muppet! You are not a bad photographer at all!!!"

"Our human is not very patient when she is in a hurry to beat the crowds, so the photographs are not the best..."

It is almost time for Disneyland!

"Our human was sleeping on an air mattress,"said Shellie May. "You can see her blanket that has Mickey on it!"

"And soon we will be going to Disneyland!!!"

Actually, it was just one giant fountain. I got this picture for my friend since her camera did not want to take a good picture of it. (As you can see...my camera did not really want to take a good picture of it either...)

And then on the way back to the hotel, we saw fireworks!

This was in March 2015, when they had a very short fireworks show playing...only about 5 minutes! So we only saw it from outside, and that was OK.
